Summertime is always a confusing season for me. On one hand, I sincerely enjoy the sun, sand, and that excellent weather outside, but on the other, my sinuses act up something fierce thanks to the soaring temperatures.
Last summer, I decided to act precociously and bought something to help prevent my poor nasal cavity from swelling up all summer. As a campus girl, I needed something inexpensive, functional and still cute enough not to scare all my girlfriends from my room.
I think I might have found just the thing: The COOLEAD 500ml aroma essential oil diffuser and ultrasonic air humidifier not only works great, but it also looks right at home on my make-up desk.
The COOLEAD Air Humidifier Review
What I like
- Advanced ultrasonic technology
- Auto shut off
- 5 different functions
- Medium sized water tank
What I don’t like
- Takes time to start
- No difference between high and low
What Are You Buying?
The COOLEAD Air Humidifier is an ultrasonic air humidifier that also diffuses essential oils into the atmosphere to improve the air quality. When I initially bought the humidifier, I might have been more biased on the aesthetics and forgot to check out what features were included.
I especially enjoyed its unique design, but once I saw it change through up to 7 different colours, I was sold. A few days into the summer was when I really began understanding how the COOLEAD humidifier works, how much of a lifesaver it can be and also where it falls short.
To begin with, I had no idea that humidifiers needed so many features. Mine came with 5 different functions that turn it from a simple humidifier into an ionizer, night light, aromatherapy diffuser and an air purifier. No wonder my friend who has allergies likes to hang around my room.
Thanks to the ultrasonic diffusing technology that breaks down essential oils without using heat, the air quality is considerably better. This is because while heat destroys certain oil properties, ultrasonic technology ensures its integrity remains intact, allowing for more bodily absorption.
This cute product was just the right size to take me through the night undisturbed. I must reiterate on just enough because even though the 500ml water capacity claims that it lasts up to 10 hours, it really didn’t hit that mark.
I also spend a large part of the afternoon in my room and like to keep it on. This means I have to add more water before I sleep otherwise it’ll just get used up. The great news here is that if the water runs out in the middle of the night, I don’t have to worry because it will automatically turn itself off.
How Easy Is It To Use?
Unlike most of the humidifiers I’ve seen that come with perplexing shapes and designs, the COOLEAD humidifier and Aroma diffuser has a very simple design. It almost looks like a tin of margarine that you just add water to. However, adding the water below the max line at around 400ml works better and faster than filling it up.
The settings are also very straight forward. You only need to switch it on, set the timer to either 1, 2 or 3 hours and adjust the spray intensity to low or high. I don’t know if it was just my unit or if other buyers noticed this, but there wasn’t any real difference between the high and low settings for the spray. It seemed consistently strong which was not really an issue.
The light button also allows you to choose between a night-light that cycles through all seven colours or just sticks to one. I personally like the light green; it has a soothing feel to it.
What Accessories Are Included?
Upon purchasing and unpacking the product, you will find the following items:
- A brand new 500 ml COOLEAD humidifier and aroma diffuser
- A measuring cup for filling water
- 1 charger adaptor
- User manual
In my case, I order for eucalyptus and lavender pure essential oils to be included in my purchase. This was an excellent starter package and a definite lifesaver.
COOLEAD Air Humidifier Key Features
Pros
- Advanced ultrasonic diffusing technology for optimum absorption.
- Automatic off switch for easy operation.
- 5 features for air purification, diffusion, ionisation, humidification and a night light.
- Medium sized capacity for water (500ml).
Cons
- Takes an extra long time to start operation if filled to the brim.
- Settings for high and low don’t seem to have any real difference.
Anything Else You Should Know?
As far as humidifiers go, the COOLEAD humidifier is surprisingly quiet except for a few bubbling sounds now and then that will alert you when the water level starts getting lower. The exterior might also be very aesthetically pleasing, but it’s made of very light plastic, so try not to drop your humidifier from great distances.
Conclusion
For a very affordable product, the COOLEAD worked surprisingly well at addressing my immediate needs. Not only will my summers be less irritating, now I can always look forward to some me-time in my fresh, humid and lavender scented room. This neat humidifier is the perfect match for people who love style, colour, and convenience without having to spend too much for it.
