1. Bladeless Operation

The concept of bladeless fans has been around for a while though Dyson was the first to actually manufacturer and sell them.

Traditional fans use external blades to push air around the room, creating a cooling airflow.

In contrast, bladeless fans have no visible blades. They still use blades but they are hidden out of sight at the base of the fan.

The Dyson AM07 draws air through the bottom of the cylindrical base using fans. Other rotating fans push the air upwards into the ring.

The air then comes out of slits on the inside of the ring. The slits are angled such that the airstream is directed forwards.

This design has several benefits.

• It reduces noise. The AM07 is designed to create as little air turbulence as possible, which is what causes normal fans to be noisy.
• It’s safer for kids and pets because there are no external spinning blades.
• Without blades to get into the way, the fan is easier to clean.

2. Powerful but Quiet Airflow

I didn’t quite finish explaining how the Dyson bladeless fan works. Something else happens as the air flows out of the slits in the ring.

As the air moves forward, it creates an area of low pressure that sucks in surrounding air.

This creates an even more powerful airstream that is more effective at cooling. This is what Dyson calls the Air Multiplier technology.

Despite the large amount of air the fan moves at a high speed, it is surprisingly quiet. As I explained, that’s because there are no external blades to create noise-causing turbulence.

The Dyson AM07 also uses a brushless motor, a noise-absorbing motor casing and asymmetric internal blades to further reduce noise levels.

You can leave the fan on at night and still sleep peacefully.

The low noise levels also make it great for nurseries and offices.

3. 10 Airflow Settings, Oscillation Control and Sleep Timer

You can change how powerful the airflow is by varying the speed of the internal fans. The included remote control provides 10 different settings from nearly silent to a gentle hum.

You can also set a sleep timer between 15 minutes and 9 hours. The fan will automatically turn off after the set period.

Something else you can do with the remote is control the direction of airflow. Use the oscillation control arrow buttons to direct the air towards you for better and faster cooling.

How Easy Is It To Use?

As easy as any other fan.

You simply plug it in, switch it on using the remote control and that’s it.

You can then set your preferred airflow setting, change the direction of airflow and set a sleep timer.

When you are not using the remote, place it on top of the ring. The remote is magnetised so it will stay put.

Maintenance is easy too especially because there are no blades that you have to awkwardly clean.
